Tropical Storm Hanna may have prevented us from sailing on Saturday, but we were still able to have a nice dinner Saturday and some good sailing on Sunday.

I spent the weekend with my college friends in Charlotte North Carolina for the East Carolina vs. Virginia Tech Football game. I also got a few great panoramic shots of the stadium.
This is a photo of part of the aftermath of a microburst that came through the Ware River Yacht Club site shortly after all of the boats came in for the day on Saturday. These five Buccaneers were tipped while at anchor. About 30 other boats were tipped or thrown from their trailers or dollies. The tent city was nearly leveled by what was estimated to be at least 60-knot gusts for less than 5 minutes. There were no injuries and only minor damage to boats, tents and the club facilities.
I am making my directing and producing debut with a highlight video of the 2008 Leukemia Cup Regatta at FBYC. I used my Canon SD870IS to take a bunch of short clips of the regatta, party and awards.
I also have some photos that are posted here.
This week I got to take the afternoon off on Tuesday to go sailing and photograph Junior Week at Fishing Bay Yacht Club. Here are more of the junior week photos.
I spent this weekend sailing my Laser in a regatta in Ohio on Lake Erie. I got a few fantastic photos of the sun setting.
This is as much of a note to myself for future usage as well as for anyone else with the same problem. I finally figured out how to get iTunes to use the optical (S/PDIF) output on my computer to play music on my stereo. I am running Windows Vista 64-bit on a Asus P5K motherboard with built-in optical output. In the past I could only get Windows Media Center to work, but that will only play the MP3’s which is about half of the collection and none of the newer and better music. To make it work:
Open QuickTime Player
Go to Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences
Select the Audio Tab
Select the “Safe mode (waveOut only)” option and click apply.
Close QuickTime and iTunes and relaunch iTunes.
