Group Photo in the Stadium

ECU beat Southern Miss this weekend and won the opportunity to host the Conference USA Championship game on December 5. It was another fantastic game in Greenville and the Pirates put on quite a show. With the conference championship on Saturday at ECU, that makes 3 trips in 3 weekends to Greenville.

Dowdy-Ficklin Stadium vs. UAB

UAB came to ECU this weekend and we had another great tailgate. Between flip cup; punt, pass and kick contest; shots over the phone with Chris K who is stationed in England and the game itself, it was another legendary weekend.

My photo experiment for the weekend was a panoramic HDR of the stadium. It took quite a bit of hand editing, but it turned out pretty well.

2010 USODA Nationals Website

Today we launched the website for the 2010 US Optimist Dinghy Nationals to be held by Fishing Bay Yacht Club and several other community organizations in Deltaville, Virginia.

The website we put together uses WordPress to help get news out about the event. We’ll also be utilizing twitter, facebook, SMS, and email to spread information about the event, engage parents and participants, and to report on the event for spectator parents, grandparents and others who aren’t able to be on site.

ECU Stadium During the ECU VT Game

This weekend started out on Thursday with a trip to Greenville to see ECU take on Virginia Tech at home, televised nationally on ESPN. The last time Virginia Tech played in Greenville it was also a Thursday night game and I was a freshman watching David Gerrard take on Michael Vick. This game wasn’t as exciting as those as it was more of a defensive match-up, rather than an offensive one. I had a great time as always and it was fun tailgating and hanging out with friends.

Here is one photo I took that is a panoramic from the corner. Nighttime made it much tougher to get some good panoramic pictures. This seemed be only one of two that came out.

2009 Chesapeake Bay Laser Masters Start

This past weekend was the 2009 Chesapeake Bay Laser Masters Regatta at Fishing Bay Yacht Club. As the event chair it’s a lot of work to get everything together to put on an event like that. On one hand it’s a relief to have that behind me, but that also means the sailing season is over for the year.

The event turned out great and I got to take a lot of great pictures. The overcast clouds and periodic ran made it a little hard to get good pictures, but I did what I could.

Cleaned up Shed

It’s finally fall which means it’s time again for home improvement projects. I took off most of the summer from doing projects and now that sailing and other things are winding down, it’s time to get going on a few things again.

Since I had a nice day, my project was to clean, re-configure and organize the shed. Originally there were shelves around 2 walls of the shed. I pulled them out and replaced them with movable shelves which provided a lot more shelve space. The end result is a somewhat clean shed that I can get around. At least until next weekend when something ‘else’ needs to go in the shed.
