The final ECU home football game of the year against SMU started out a little rain and ended with an ECU loss. We managed a 6-6 finish and have been invited to a bowl game. It’s been a fun season and I can’t wait until next year.
ECU vs. Navy game this weekend was also an attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest gathering of costumed pirates. We were short by only 5,353 pirates. At least it was fun trying! The game on the other hand was probably best left forgotten.

Another great weekend in Greenville has passed. ECU defeated Marshall at home. Our tailgate was a blast as usual.
ECU beat Southern Miss this weekend and won the opportunity to host the Conference USA Championship game on December 5. It was another fantastic game in Greenville and the Pirates put on quite a show. With the conference championship on Saturday at ECU, that makes 3 trips in 3 weekends to Greenville.
UAB came to ECU this weekend and we had another great tailgate. Between flip cup; punt, pass and kick contest; shots over the phone with Chris K who is stationed in England and the game itself, it was another legendary weekend.
My photo experiment for the weekend was a panoramic HDR of the stadium. It took quite a bit of hand editing, but it turned out pretty well.
This weekend started out on Thursday with a trip to Greenville to see ECU take on Virginia Tech at home, televised nationally on ESPN. The last time Virginia Tech played in Greenville it was also a Thursday night game and I was a freshman watching David Gerrard take on Michael Vick. This game wasn’t as exciting as those as it was more of a defensive match-up, rather than an offensive one. I had a great time as always and it was fun tailgating and hanging out with friends.
Here is one photo I took that is a panoramic from the corner. Nighttime made it much tougher to get some good panoramic pictures. This seemed be only one of two that came out.
This weekend ECU kicked off their football season against Appalachian State. This was the maiden tailgate for JG’s RV. We got a great RV spot right next to the practice field and just a couple hundred yards from the stadium. We stayed Friday night through Sunday morning for game at noon on Saturday.
In addition to the regulars, CK flew in from Albaquerque for the weekend to help us kick off the season. One game down and one win for the Pirates! Looking forward to a great season!
